TPConnects Wins IATA’s 2026 Multi-Vendor Modularity POC: A Real-World End-to-End Supplier–Retailer Journey, From Offer to Order to Settlement
TPConnects, together with a group of industry partners, won IATA’s 2026 Multi-Vendor Modularity Proof of Concept – an initiative designed to demonstrate what’s possible when the airline industry’s modern retailing standards come together across multiple systems, multiple vendors, and one seamless passenger journey.
The demo brought together TPConnects, ATPCO, Lufthansa Systems, Ancileo, Neoke, FlyNava, M2P, IATA IFG and Innovation Ink in a true multi-vendor orchestration, with each partner contributing a critical piece of the puzzle to show that ONE Order in One ID isn’t just a concept, but something that works operationally, today.
To bring this to life, we followed a single family’s, two adults and one child, journey from Dubai (DXB) to London (LHR), via Bahrain (BAH), round trip, across an itinerary involving two carriers, Supplier 7X (TPConnects Airline) and Retailer Gulf Air (GF), through every stage of modern air travel: discovery, booking, personalization, day-of-travel servicing, a real-world disruption, reaccommodation, and finally, a safe return home.
From Offer to Order: One Family’s Journey
The journey begins with rich, personalized airline products and tailored travel options, meals, Wi-Fi, insurance – giving the travelers full visibility into what’s available before they even book. Behind the scenes, TPConnects’ Astra Nova platform synchronizes with ATPCO’s supplier catalog to source Gulf Air content, while maintaining its own Product Catalog for 7X offerings – bundling both into a single, unified set of product options ready for distribution. Product Catalogue serves as a centralized, unified management module of flight and ancillary content, with flights, ancillaries, and third-party services like insurance treated as independent products. The family selects a bundle that includes meals, Wi-Fi, insurance, cabin & check in bag, with Neoke used to capture passenger details at the moment of booking. FlyNava adds a layer of dynamic pricing on top, adjusting fares based on demand and other market factors, with intelligent price optimization and orchestration based on real-time stock availability, to ensure the offer reflects real-time pricing conditions. From there, TPConnects creates a Supplier-Retailer order for two adults and one child covering both carriers across the outward and return legs, serving as the single source of truth for the entire order lifecycle, with every air and non-air product captured in one unified record. The order is processed and submitted to participating carriers, with payment orchestrated through IATA Financial Gateway (IFG), enabling secure payment processing. Moments later, Lufthansa Systems SIRAX/ONE Order reflects the newly created prime order – a single, unified record, not a fragmented set of documents.
Post-booking, the travelers add extra baggage (20kg) and selects preferred seats – a live ancillary purchase that updates the order in real time. Lufthansa Systems displays the sale, with order value and associated services updating instantly, with no separate documents and no reissue required, just a modified order. On the day of travel, at the airport, Neoke’s Digital ID enables a touchless, biometric pass-through experience for the passengers. Innovation Ink’s Aura powers the purchase of lounge access and an eSIM as additional ancillaries and simulates each milestone of the passenger journey lifecycle – check-in, boarding, and takeoff. TPConnects captures and displays Delivered Order Item status updates in real time, providing automated, multi-timeline tracking and full visibility into order fulfillment as it happens.
When Disruption Strikes: Recovery Without Starting Over
No passenger journey demo is complete without testing what happens when things go wrong. On the return leg, TPConnects initiates a disruption event, a cancelled flight from Bahrain to Dubai, identifying all impacted orders. M2P’s Orbit disruption management capabilities generate alternative recovery options, and TPConnects performs the reaccommodation, rebooking the passengers onto a new flight with updated itineraries reflected instantly across the order. This is proactive disruption management in action: seamless order updates, with no ticket-based exchanges required. Once reaccommodated, the journey resumes seamlessly – check-in, ancillary services, boarding, and departure – tracked once again through Lufthansa Systems and Innovation Ink, proving that disruption recovery doesn’t mean starting over. It means updating the same order, in real time.
As the order reaches completion, Lufthansa Systems handles settlement between the two carriers, providing complete order accounting driven by the One Order standard, with seamless accounting and settlement across retailer and supplier, and end-to-end order integrity backed by a full audit trail. This ensures that revenue is accurately allocated across both 7X and Gulf Air. The journey concludes with the passengers arriving home safely, their travel insurance claim processed and confirmed, closing the loop on a fully digital, fully connected passenger experience.
What This Demo Proved
What this demo proved is something the industry has talked about for years but rarely seen fully operational across multiple vendors: a single order, surviving an entire passenger journey including real-world disruption, without fragmentation. No separate PNRs, no disconnected EMDs, no manual reconciliation between booking, servicing, and disruption systems. Just ONE Order, continuously updated, from the moment of discovery to the moment the passenger walks back through their front door. This is the promise of Offer and Order, not as a theoretical architecture, but as a working, multivendor Supplier-Retailer reality.
From Proof of Concept to Industry Standard
Beyond proving technical feasibility, the POC also surfaced important lessons for the industry’s path forward. The demo successfully validated the industry roadmap for interline operations within a Supplier-Retailer model, with TPConnects and its partners demonstrating end-to-end capabilities across catalog exchange, offer and order creation, automated disruption management, order delivery, and settlement tracking across multiple integrated systems.
What this also confirmed is that the next critical step lies in industry standardization. While the technology works, scaling these capabilities into production-ready, industry-wide solutions will require common standards for product definitions, disruption handling, settlement frameworks, contract management, and multi-system orchestration, particularly in Supplier-Retailer scenarios involving multiple carriers and vendors. The POC has proven that the pieces can come together, the focus now must shift toward industry alignment, so that these capabilities can be consistently adopted and scaled across the broader ecosystem.
“A passenger’s journey today goes well beyond the booking itself – product offers, ancillary sales, airport services, insurance, disruption, and recovery, often spanning across multiple carriers and systems,” said Praveen Kumar, CTO at TPConnects. “This POC proved that in the new Offer and Order world, a single, living order can manage that entire Supplier-Retailer complexity end to end, without fragmentation and manual reconciliation. This is no longer a future state, it’s today’s reality.”
Built on Collaboration
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the collaboration of an exceptional group of partners, each bringing deep domain expertise – ATPCO on Product content, Ancileo on Non-Air Ancillary, Neoke on Digital ID, FlyNava Technologies on Offer Optimization, IATA IFG on Payment Orchestration, M2P on Disruption Handling, Lufthansa Systems on Settlement and Order Accounting, and Innovation Ink on Service Delivery. Together with TPConnects’ Astra Nova platform orchestrating the end-to-end flow, this demo represents a real glimpse into the future of airline retailing, one where every system speaks the same language, around a single order.
We’re incredibly proud of this recognition from IATA, and even more excited about what it signals for the industry. The technology to deliver true ONE Order experiences even across Supplier-Retailer itineraries exists today, not as isolated pilots, but as proven, multivendor, production-ready capability.
