About the Senior Data Engineer role
TPConnects is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Dubai. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in advancing best practices for data engineering within our organization. Your main responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining robust data architecture, ensuring it is stable, scalable, and flexible. You will work on challenging projects, collaborate with top industry professionals, and have a significant impact on the organization by developing a self-serve data platform.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse and data lake.
- Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Build and maintain data models and schemas to support reporting and analytics.
- Explore and implement new data technologies and tools to enhance data capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other data engineers.
- Work closely with the development team to integrate into applications and products.
Skills and competencies
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data pipelines and data warehousing.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and database design principles.
- Strong experience with data orchestration tools like Airflow, AWS Glue, etc.
- Strong experience with IaC tools like Terraform for provisioning data infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and other relevant programming languages is a must.
- Experience with AWS cloud and cloud-based data warehousing solutions like Snowflake/Redshift is must.
- Familiarity with data quality and profiling tools like Great Expectations/Dbt is a plus.
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
